Rajthala

नेवा सभ्यता तान्त्रिक जगमा बसेको हुँदा रक्सी र छ्याङ्ग जस्ता मद्य पदार्थ शक्ति पूजनको लागि अत्यावश्यक रहेको छ। रक्सी र छ्याङ्ग बनाउन चाहिने एक महत्वपूर्ण सामान मोर्चा (नेपाल भाषा: मना अथवा मनापू) रहेको छ। नेवा समुदायमा राजथला जाति यस्तो मोर्चा बनाउने र काठमाडौं उपत्यका साथै वरपर धान, गहुँ, मकै, तरकारीसँग साट्ने गर्दथे। राजथला जातिको मुख्य बसोबास ललितपुरको लुभुमा रहेको छ।

Since Newa civilization is rooted in the Tantric tradition, alcoholic beverages like raksi and chhyang are essential for power-worship rituals. A crucial ingredient for making raksi and chhyang is morcha (Nepal Bhasa: mana or manapu).

In the Newa community, the Rajthala group specialized in making this morcha and used to barter it for rice, wheat, maize, and vegetables in and around Kathmandu Valley. The primary settlement of the Rajthala people is in Lubhu, Lalitpur.
