स्थानीय नेपाल भाषामा कमी वा सीकमी भनेर चिनिने यो थरले परम्परागत शिल्पी समुदायलाई जनाउँछ, जो काठमा विभिन्न प्रकारका कलाहरू सिर्जना गर्न र निर्माण गर्नमा आफ्नो सीपको लागि परिचित छन्। यो जातिले नेपालको वास्तुकलामा महत्वपूर्ण योगदान पुर्‍याएको छ, जुन मन्दिरहरू, दरबारहरू र अन्य ऐतिहासिक संरचनाहरूमा सजिएका काष्ठकलामा देख्न सकिन्छ।

शिल्पकार, सी कमी, कमी, श्रीखण्ड, स्थापित, बाराही यी जातिका मानिसहरूले प्रयोग गर्ने थरहरू हुन्। भक्तपुरमा यो जाति शिल्पकार भनेर चिनिन्छ भने काठमाडौंमा स्थापित र साँखुमा श्रीखण्ड। त्यस्तै ललितपुरमा मच्छिन्द्रनाथको रथ बनाउने शिल्पी विशेष समूह बाराही थरले चिनिन्छ।
