Tepe

तेपे थरका व्यक्तिहरू किराँत कालिन राजपरिवारका सदस्य वा भारदारहरू हुन्। तत्कालीन समयमा लिच्छवीहरूले किराँतहरू माथि हालको च्यासलमा आक्रमण गर्दा, केही किराँतीहरू टेप अर्थात् धान, चामल, पीठो राख्न प्रयोग गरिने ठूलो माटोको भाँडोमा लुकेर ज्यान जोगाए। जसको कारण ती मान्छेहरू कालान्तरमा तेपे/टेपे भनेर चिनिए।

Individuals with the Tepe surname are believed to have been members or nobles of the Kirat royal family during the Kirat era. When the Licchavis attacked the Kirats at what is now Chyasal, some Kirati people hid in tepa, a large ceramic pots traditionally used to store rice, grains, or flour, to save their lives. Over time, these people came to be known as Tepe, deriving their name from the pots that played a role in their survival.
